Unit 1: The Big Picture
Week 1: May 2-8
-Intro
•real nation also imaginary
-real laws, government
-exists as a projection forward and backwards in terms of govt’s/ citizens hopes/
fears/ needs/ abilities
•course is the backwards projection of Canada
•difficult to say when Canada came into being
-expo ’67?!
repatriation of the constitution?!

1814 treaty of Ghent (ended the war of 1812)?!
1763 Treaty of Paris (ended the 7 years war)?!
