World-wide trend towards consumer demand for environmentally friendly products and other ethical values in consumer good (eg. social welfare of workers) Doesn"t challenge dominant social paradigm (consuming is good for economy, satisfies social status and consumer desire) Therefore, it"s easy to promote behaviour change: consume, but consume green . Genuine benefits of cleaner production and waste management practices (ex. Allows people to do something as individuals (empowerment, getting involved) Increases overall awareness and discourse about impacts of production and consumption.
