Difference between patricians ad plebians what family you were born into (gentes or clans are related families) Plebians were also citizens, in the military and so, so as a secession refuses to be in military. 445 bc: laws passed for patrician and plebians to be permitted to intermarry (children could then have access to patrician offices) 367 b. c: another secession of the plebs, a strike/refusal to work for the government. Gains: plebians become eligible for the consulship (a consul could now be a plebeian) And laws addressing debt, such as allowing those in debt to have a small piece of land to help work it to pay off their debt. This happened after 150 years of republic, very slow process. 4th century gains: 342 bc: law makes mandatory that one of two consuls must be a plebeian.
