What would be the effect on freezing/boiling point by adding salt to water? a. Freezing point gets higher (above 0), boiling point gets lower. Colligative= collectively, the more dissolved, the more depressed the freezing/more elevated the boiling pnt. Organisms who can"t regulate body temp. (plants, insects), accumulate add. The more you accumulate, the more water it attracts.
