Document Summary

We have many sensory systems, but through evolution many things have happened phylogenetically. The sense we rely on most to move around in our environment is vision. Vision is the most important sensory info we use. Light rays enter the eye through the pupil. Lense focuses rays to they converge on retina. Between the lense and retina is the vitrious humour, light rays can ass through. Retina is where the light energy is going. Neural signal is sent down optic nerve to the brain. Photons and light energy neural electrical signal. Retina: axons coming from retina have to get out of retina at optic disk where it leaves through the optic nerve to the brain. Hole punched in retina at optic disk you are blind rght there. Medial to that at centre of retina is a pick called the fovea. Because of the hole in the retina where the axons come out, same hole where vessels are.
