After doing this weeks reading and watching the documentary the murder of crows as well as other short videos i was quite surprised on the level of intelligence of animals but more specifically crows. Until now i have not given the idea of intelligence in animals much thought. Throughout this week"s readings and videos, it is apparent that crows are able to use analogies. As seen in the video crows may have reasoning ability of a 7-year-old on the daily mail page provided in our notes. This video shows a series of similar experiments showing that crows understand that dropping differently weighted objects in a cup full of water connected with a tube raised the water level to get a floating piece of meat. The researchers laid out food in areas where the crows were most abundant the crows responded by attacking the researchers and even alerting other crows in the area.
