Self-actualization: the need to fulfill our full and special potential as humans. Maslow: opposite of freud: developed ideas by studying creative, healthy people, not trouble clinical ones. Mihaly csikszentmihalyi: peak experiences moments in which people experience intense clarity of perception, feelings of joy and excitement and a suspended sense of time and reality, work peaked in studies in positive psychology. Positive psychology: the study of positive experiences and healthy mental functioning.
