If you look at movies that are widely considered as great, more often than not, they have an amazing story to tell. Training day is no exception, as it explores the topic of human morality, and corruption in the police force. The main character, jake hoyt (ethan hawke), is a rookie l. a. p. d. officer on his first day in the narcotics division. His initiation into the department includes a twenty-four hour training day with detective alonzo harris (denzel washington), the head of the narcotics division. Jake becomes aware of alonzo"s corruption, and starts to question his own sense of morality. Jake has to choose to either join his corrupt detective and abandon his morals, or fight against corruption and risk his life in the process.
