Issues raised by black lives matter include police killings, police brutality, corruption in student elections, racial inequality on and off campus, racial divide, racism, injustices in the legal system, and racial discrimination. These issues are relevant to canadians because although it seems like an american problem, which it is, but it is also prominent in canada as well. There was growing protests in toronto regarding the police shooting of several black canadians. Racial discrimination happens in canada as well, as police are more suspicious of black people, whether it"s questioning them or asking for identification. It"s shown that black people are much more likely to get carded or id"s than white people in canada. Tactics organized and employed by black lives matter include demonstrations, rallying, protesting, writing politicians and other political figures, marches, and social media movements.
