Our key process - the story behind the picture. This stage is about selecting the meanings that make most sense of the theatrical or cinematic moment. This stage is about relating the speci c meanings to the broader context of the piece and the culture in which it was created and which it is being produced. Establish interpretive frame through which the action should be read. Clarify the social expectations of the ctional world. Establish relationship of characters to ctional environment. Groupings of characters in relation to each other. Rhythm - regular, irregular, different time schemes. Melody - a tune or not a tune. These can use text, imagery, sound, etc. to ful ll their objectives. Providing audience with tools to understand why we think a work of art is important. Suggesting an interpretive frame for the piece. Location on stage & in relation to others/object.
