They found that she had no contact other than her parents, found wearing diapers. Unable to speak, problems with basic motor skills. Child psychologists/ social workers were assembled to help her development and rehabilitation and integration into society. She also presented the opportunity for the professors/psychologists to understand the issue that has eluded us for centuries; the well known nurture vs nature debate. What abilities are innate to us or are we born as blank slates and these slates are lled through social interaction. As part of this debate, one speci c question is about language. Dif cult to answer, because most of us have been raised in social groups. We don"t have control groups of individuals who were raised with limited interaction.
