Phenomenology examines the reality of everyday life and who individuals make sense of their every experiences. Because this perspective examines how people focus on and give attention to particular phenomenon in the world around them: historical overview, roots in philosophy (20th century philosophy) Traced back to the german philosopher edmund husserl who focused on the condition of consciousness. Husserl(cid:859)s stude(cid:374)t (cid:449)as alfred schuts, she studies philosophy and sociology. He tried to take phenomenology and play out the sociological aspects of phenomenology. He wrote a book called the phenomenology of the social world 1932 and english in 1967. Schuts was interested in how everyday life, people make sense of social reality and act on this reality. Within sociology the idea of schuts were popularized and more fully developed by two sociologist. Their book was called the social construction of reality in 1966.
