Jealousy as an evolved mechanism: cross cultural consistency controversy re measurement. Men"s physiological responses: we see when imagining sexual cheating vs love cheating, men"s response increases significantly, heart rate increases, corrugator muscles increase in activity significantly (palms sweaty, heart beating fast, face is frowning) Women: pattern not as big, significant differences were still there but much smaller and favoured women being upset more about love cheating than sex cheating. Time spent together vs. time spent apart (baker and bellis, 1995) Quarterback sperm runs to the egg. Blocker sperm blocks other men"s sperm from getting to the egg (football analogy) - have not found evidence of this, but have found evidence of other things. 200 million more sperm (approx) in ejaculate after having only spent 5% of time together. Cues of infidelity (killgallon and simmons, 2005) Men had to masturbate and collect semen they produced.
