Look at how long does the baby fixate on each object; whichever image they look at longest is their preferred image. Now, moms have babies on their laps and the researchers look at what the baby is looking at. Present the baby w/ a stimulus and present it to the baby until they get bored (habituated) Once they"re bored, we change the stimulus just a little bit.
