Can we disentangle the effects of genes and environment on polygenic traits: 3 main methods. If they"re (cid:373)ore si(cid:373)ilar to the (cid:271)iologi(cid:272)al fa(cid:373)ilies, the(cid:374) ge(cid:374)es are (cid:272)ausal. Family studies: looking at all sorts of different relatives, compare relatedness with concordance, on some trait, if they both have the trait, genetic overlap. Twin studies: monozygotic vs. dizygotic, reared together vs. reared apart (diff families) If different then environment matters: looking at concordance rates, looks at one twin with schizo, looks if the other has it, reasoning is monozygotic twins be more similar on the trait then dizygotic. Measure of their personality of their adoptive family. The higher you are on the y axis the more extraverted u r. Child adopted away from their biological mother is more similar with extraversion score. Extraversion probably has a relatively large genetic causation. Adoptive children are more similar to their biological parents, than the parents they spend their life with.
