Maslow says people get stuck in esteem level of hierarchy: maslows hierarchy of needs from top to bottom: Maslow says you can go up hierarchy but situations and circumstances can force you back down. David"s motive imagery somewhat fits into esteem section of maslow"s hierarchy of needs. Winters says all there are working in concert, but one will be the highest: the one that is the highest pushes you forward and will explain why you act a certain way in certain situations. Winters believes that to be in politics, you must be a power oriented individual: those high on affiliation who enter politics, become disillusioned or they change their focus to power. Power orientation has two sides: good and bad: power, along with self-control, and a sense of responsibility to others can be very good. These are the type of people you want in power: people who are power oriented, without self-restrain, can achieve a lot of bad things.
