Paleoanthropology is the study of understanding human characteristics based on bones. Development of towns and cities led to more violence: organized to create armies to defend themselves, had to emulate most aggressive nations to survive. Social evolution: the pushing out of peaceful societies by the more aggressive ones: fighting became the norm, fighting lead to bidder and bigger political units, smaller communities were consumed. David fabro looked at more peaceful societies: said the inuit were a peaceful community, said peaceful groups shared common trends egalitarian societies. No restriction on who could hold positions of decision making. Any extra was divided up equally: these societies developed multiple norms that discouraged violence.
