Singer-songwriters: continuation of folk and folk/rock aesthetic and musical style, singer at the centre, sincerity: seem to reveal themselves and not a character; appear unmediated , perform songs they"ve written. Intimacy: white, carole king, tapestry, carole king was incredibly commercially successful in the 1970s, tapestry was very very successful. She continued the idea of folk and folk rock in terms what they were trying to do, the singer is at the centre of this music.
