Corruption - payola: majors implicitly link race with the quality of music, rock n roll is attacked on grounds because of it"s inferior music. Inferior = black influenced: payola hearings (bribery) You give to a dj in order to get more air plays so songs/records can become popular. There were major court hearing on this case; were dj"s getting bribed to play music: alan freed. Major figures like alan freed who was a dj and came up with the term rock n roll, became a main target for payola hearings. Judges and jury claimed that alan freed was taking bribes in order to play rock n roll records; he was, but the fact was, every dj in the city was taking bribes in order to air songs.
