MEDRADSC 1C03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 11: Voltage Source
Document Summary
Lecture #11: resistance in circuits and resistance in parallel and series. All the current flows through the first resistor and must also pass through the second resistor and the third, etc. Resistors in series have a common current flowing through them as the current that flows through one resistor must also flow through the others as it can only take one path. The amount of current that flows through a set of resistors in series will be the same at all points in a series resistor network. All resistors combine to slow down the current. Can t have a pile of electrons (or bottlenecks) because whatever slows down the electron flow will affect all points. Voltage is the sum of all the potential differences and current is the same throughout the system. Add all the resistors to get the total effect of the resistors. Brightness relates to the amount of current going through them.
