Not all uv rays are harmful in the same way. Uvc can cause more damage, but we are not exposed to it since it is deeply absorbed in the ozone layer. Methane is not a compound known to contribute to the degradation of ozone in the stratosphere. Du is a measure of thickness in the ozone layer. The thickness of the ozone layer has decreased a lot. More uv rays can reach the ground surface. The area over the south pole has decreased significantly: exposure to uv radiation.
