Lecture 16; industrial unionism and world war ii. A lot of mistakes of management in the war had to be recognized. The economy still in the dumper in 1939. The economic was smaller in 1939 than in 1920s. Slow but it starts to happen and take off after 1940. Not just that is resumes-- the economy starts to become more sophisticated. Government took the economy over to avoid divisions. Manage contracts so that things will run smoothly. For the most part they are able to avoid most problems. This is an impact that we still see today. To see the government interfering actually work to stabilize the economy through hard-times (wii) National select service agency that overseas placing workers and human resources in different places. Because they have the resources, already established - have money + experience.
