Suspended civil liberties and requirements of the gov"t to pass laws. Rounded up people who were not loyal to canada, or trouble makers (a lot of these people were immigrants) Ran armed forces and kept people in line controlled everyone"s life (even on the job because they supplied for the war food, equipment, etc) Massive upsurge of national spiritualist; that they"re boys were going to go over and beat the opposing guys. Total war- all of the resources in the country/society are going to be devoted to winning the war very grim sentiment (win the war) Any kind of complaining about our conditions in canada are unacceptable because it would be worse if we lost and what we would complain about would not even compare to the soldiers and what they"re going through. When workers get frustrated with different issues they have nowhere to complain to. Total war around the world puts strain on societies.
