Workers are getting more pressure = join unions. Organize everybody in one union; all workers in an industry become members of that union; skilled, semi-skilled, not skilled, etc. Gompers didn"t think it was a bad idea, but hard to get leverage (not a micro manager) Mass unionism; very powerful movement that can speak for larger amount of people. Liked the idea that you could get large groups of people a voice. Small in terms of numbers at this time, except british columia. Mining; masses of workers, all go in at the same time and come up at the same. Garment; talks about immigrant workers, women; join some of the industrial time unions.
