Infundibulum connects it to pituitary gland which is responsible for secreting hormones involved in metabolism, reproduction, urine production, etc. More than 12 nuclei (don"t need to know names of the colourful nuclei on slide) with various functions including homeostasis. Some of the clusters involved in autonomic stuff. So closely related that if one is stimulated then others get stimulated. There is a bone cavity that surrounds pituitary gland. Deep within: collection of nuclei> basal nuclei > important group of functionally. Region of white matter> cerebral medulla > myelinated axon pathways that connect all these diff grey regions in cerebrum. Longitudinal fissure divide brain into right and left hemispheres.
