After this, the next version was created in 1962 and the one after that was created in 1977. The version that resembles our present food guide was created in 1992. The present food guide was created in 2007. Every time they create the food guide, they go to the science to make sure they are in line with what the research says and in line with the population that we are dealing with. Between the us and canada, they came up with dietary reference intakes which are calculations to figure out how much of a nutrient the population requires.
