HTHSCI 1H06 Lecture Notes - Lecture 11: Dioptre, Retina, Blood Vessel
Document Summary
Consisted of cornea, aqueous humor, lens and the vitreous humor. All of this bend the light and shine the on the retina is capable of bending the light and projecting it in the very back of the eye. Maintain the shape of the eye: cornea. Is bend most of the light: retina & visual pathway, glaucoma increase intraocular pressure. Normal vision depends on the shape of the cornea and sclera: refractive power: air/ water interface (80%) Most of the light is bended by the cornea: accomodation. The lends adjusting the focus of the eyes. So the light coming in through the cornea but then it is adjusted by the lends so only 20% of refraction are being done by the lends. Hyperopia (farsightedness) the image is elongated (unusually long in relation to the eye length) the ball is kind of flatten. As the result, the light projects behind the eye so the closed object looks fuzzy.
