This is where sponsorship and fellowship comes into play. Dependence is permanent, and requires total abstinence. Reaching rock bottom - the point at which denial is impossible. Bringing the message to others who need it. Incorporates both medical model and vice model (acknowledges disease, but it"s a disease with a spiritual/moral component) Total personal transformations - not merely eliminating behaviour but remaking the self.
