Not just about food -- about other things as well. If you"re restricting you intake of food you are not going to be interested in. Usually described as server disturbances in eating behaviour that result from the sufferers obsessive fear about gaining weight. There is something about this we might link to other disorders we talk about. Some prefer "dieting disorder" because it usually incorporates an obsession to lose weight. We think dieting is a normal activity -- a line b/t dieting and eating disorders can get blurry. A new category -- binge eating disorder- challenges this approach. Not about a fear of gaining weight or losing it. Extreme emaciation (refusal to maintain 85% of normal weight)
