Gender is performative, it"s a role that we play, its what we do. When an idea is so dominate that it goes virtually un-present. Has to do with things like being kind, caregiving, knowing when to be quite. Both hm and ef function to preserve and extend social relations whereby the male domination of women is seen as acceptable or invisible. Multiple masculinities and femininities- dominant forms subordinate other expressions. Example, heterosexuality are held as superior to imperior sexualities. These dominant pairing work together to quiet down other ways of gender. Real difference in wellbeing and psychopathology, based on physiological difference. Anti-social personality disorder or sociopath to men. Empathy, cooperation, nurturing as products of female sex hormones. Rational and spatial understanding, competitive behaviour, violence as result of male sex hormones. Anxiety, depression etc. is to do with the way society conditions are.
