The more severe an illness is considered, the more a treatment is needed. Extending boundaries of treatable illness to expand markets for new products. Disease awareness campaigns linked to companies marketing strategies. Mild symptoms portrayed as serious or life threatening diseases. Personal or social problems recast as medical ones.
