Over 50% of people who have mood disorders develop drug or alcohol dependencies at some point in their life. Frequent comorbidity with anxiety and eating disorders. Not all people who commit suicide are depressed, perhaps 50% suffered from mood disorders. The issue of choice and personal responsibilitydo people choose to be ill? (ex. lung cancer is caused by smoking etc. ) Critics would say we are trying to problematize and control women"s bodies, and stigmatizing women themselves. Despite publishing findings, no response for nearly 30 years. Baby boom: massive increase in population meant crowded classrooms, insufficient number of teachers. Various terms: hyperkinetic impulse disorder, organic brain syndrome, minimal brain damage. Differences involve changing which aspects of an illness emphasized, which are de-emphasized. No longer simply disruptive children but daydreamers too.
