Hearing gods voice, someone with power vs. someone without power. Until recently, homosexuality was listed as a mental illness. Good mental health -> being closer to nature is a good thing. Idea of whats mentally well and ill changes b/c of societal forces: belonging is important for good mental health. Having a mental illness someone has come along and diagnosed you as such. Mental disorders are characterized by their effect on thought, behaviour, mood. Some disorders only affects one of these elements, others are felt in multiple areas. A biological disease like any other, with viruses, lesions, and genetics causing malfunctions in the brain. Me(cid:374)tal ill(cid:374)ess is a ph(cid:455)si(cid:272)al ill(cid:374)ess that"s e(cid:454)pressed i(cid:374) a differe(cid:374)t (cid:449)a(cid:455) tha(cid:374) a ru(cid:374)(cid:374)(cid:455) (cid:374)ose and hives for ex. Has a material form in the brain. A physical disorder it has symptoms, diagnoses and treatment. If its only medical than only physicians should deal with it and not social workers or psychologists u feel.
