Dsm 5: 10 years, 1500 experts consulted, controversial: autism spectrum, bereavement clause, expanded adhd, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, binge eating disorder, some groups vowing not to use it. An alternative de nition: signi cant and involuntary deviations from what is usually considered normal behaviour in group or society, deviance is recognized as any act or behaviour that violates social normals with a given social system. !2: this behaviour must also interfere with a persons ability to function in society. A process when you take something that is not see as a health/ medical problem and you turn it into a medical problem. Problematic diagnoses: some diagnoses never make it to the dsm.
