The industrial revolution transformed how goods are produced for society. The united kingdom was home to key events in the industrial revolution. It was a series of improvements in industrial technology that transformed the process of manufacturing goods. Used to be cottage industry system which is home based manufacturing. The term is somewhat misleading: not just industrial innovations but economic and politcla as well, involved gradual diffusion of new ideas and techniquies over decades rather than an instantaneous revolution. Most important invention was the factories (steam engine) (1769) james watt) Allowed the use of factories with one energy source. Food processing: essential to feed the factory workers no longer lving on farms in 1810 nicholos apperet stated canning foods in glass bottles serilized in boiling water. Three fourths of the worlds manufacturing is clusted in three regions. The major industrial regions are divided into subareas.
