Up to 14 weeks (hospital) or 20 weeks (clinic) (approximately 10 20 minutes) Cervix is dilated and a plastic tube inserted connected to a suction pump: complications: perforation of uterus, infection, cervical lacerations, hemorrhaging. 8 20 weeks following lmp, in a hospital under general anesthesia. Dilate cervix then scrape uterine contents from lining with a blunt tool.
