Female genital cutting/circumcision cultural practice: prevalence- over 130 million women worldwide have been affected by some form of fgc with over 2 million procedures being performed every year (amnesty international), clitoridectomy: surgical removal of the clitoris. Type i. excision of the prepuce, with or without excision of part or all of the clitoris. Excision of the clitoris with partial or total excision of the labia minora. Type ill. excision of part or all of the external genitalia and stitching/narrowing of the vaginal opening- stitching (infibulation).
