This tragedy loves hero (male and female) Sophocles thinks that it is dangerous for hero to make decisions on their own, and not get advice from others. Latius + jocasta + alcohol = baby. Given to a corinthian, who gives him to the child"s king and queen of corinth. The royal family adopted this baby since they couldn"t have one of their own. As he gets older he starts to question where he comes from, his drunk peers told him he was unwanted and adopted. If you want to get rid of a baby you put them in a pot or jar and put it on a mountain so if the baby dies it"s in the gods hands. He gets attached and they are and push him off a cliff, but oedipus kills them all. Sphinx at thebes: her riddle and praise for solving it.
