Stained blue = all oxidative fibres, not distinguishing btw slow and fast. Number of fast oxidative fibres = get an avergae from a bunch of photos, subtract density of slow from overall to get fast. Total oxidative from one - slow from the red. Regulate the force the muscle generates bc when u do an activity you arent exerting the max force. You can increase number of motor units that are active. Deer mouse - high altitudes - needs to regulate body temp to live at high altitudes (low oxygen). altitudes (low oxygen). Fish - muscles that adapt to diff temp - muscles have to allow fish to still perform. Have to activate and deactivate muscle to generate the force.
