Found at delphi, where epissian games were held (like olympics) Charioteer would have been on the chariot w 4 horses, wears band around head. Inscription on figure- charioteer was riding for a tyrant of a colony, and won that is symbol of his victory. Bronze sculpture- rarely preserved (most later melted down), but this was buried by an earthquake and preserved. Lively expression bc the inlay in the eyes remains. Found in the sea, could have represented individuals or a type of warrior. Made on peloponnese- mold filled w bronze. Contrapposto stance- right leg engaged, left arm engaged, and vice versa. Details of body prominent again- head is that of a mature man (not young, experience in battle) Walls and lid are stone slabs, the surface of these are painted w true fresco. Activities the deceased would enjoy in the afterlife.
