Homo erectus- rst species to move out of africa ! Known for their acheulian tool industry, had preconceived notions of tools they wanted to use ! Something learned and passed down through generations ! Took hours to produce, as a result you"ll see continuous resharpening ! Found in 1913, but excavations didn"t begin till 1940s ! They found this site was occupied continuously over the years by different homo erectus individuals! Nearby there is a stone quarry (a place where they"d extract the materials used to make the tools) ! They also found evidence that people were butchering larger animals ! Dating to about 400 000/500 000 years ago, they had giant baboons hunted ! They were clubbing them, evidence of skull fractures caused the death for these animals !
