How population and society work together in different ways. Definition: relating to the dynamic balance of a population especially with regard to density and capacity for expansion or decline. This influences every facet of our lives in ways we can see easily. Relative cohort size (in this case birth cohort) If you were born in a year with a big birth cohort, there are a lot of people that you are in competition with. Negative economic effects - no jobs, harder time getting married, etc. Study of population process and changes for this class. Textbook: canada"s population in a global context (check syllabus) Also examples from the us and all over the world. Cdr = 1000 ( # of deaths/mid year population) 4 homework assignments each worth 10% of the grade. Russia + ukraine has as high death rate. Different countries have different population processes playing out and therefore population changes happen differently in different countries.
