Tas: nathaniel laywine (nathaniel. laywine@gmail. com) / anna faught (anna. faught@mail. mcgill. ca) Course objectives: introduce, go over and review basic concepts of sociology and sociological analysis, get interested in your social world, foster critical thinking with a sociological perspective. Textbook and additional readings are all available on my courses. Lecture materials: available on mycourses, posted the day before or the day of the lecture. All material up to week 6, mixture of multiple choice and short answers. Cumulative exam, mixture of short answer and long answer questions. Objective: demonstrate an ability to synthesize materials and make connections within topics in sociology as well as with topics outside of sociology. 4 conferences through out semester, lead by tas. No lectures will take place on conference days. Attend minimum 3/4 conferences to receive 5% of your grade. Dates: oct 13, oct 29, nov 12, nov 26.
