Building the identity and building a relational sense of self in the broader concept of society. The bulk of socialization occurs while one is growing up. Look at how they follow rules as they grow up. Theories of socialization tend to focus on birth through teenage years. Construction of self through phases of sexual relations. How children learn to be members of society by coming to terms with different aspects of sexual development. Looked at disorders in people and this was a hiccup in developmental process. Never gotten through the oral station of development which could cause people to smoke or something. Focus on emotional and social accomplishments of development. How children learn through emotional development and how to interact socially with different aspects of the world. Self develops through differing relations to moral justice.
