No, they are look equally at both the short covering event and the tall covering event. They have a bunch of teaching events (they have a different object and different covers) They are differently patterned and the object tis different. They cover the object with the tall container and it is completely hidden (not surprising) They then cover the object with the short container and it is not completely hidden (also not surprising because that is what the kids expects) In the second trial, you see totally different containers (different pattern) and the same thing happens. In a second trial, another new set of containers is introduced and the same thing happens. Even though the containers all change in pattern, the kids will figure that height is an important thing to pay attention to in these situations as opposed to visual pattern.
