Document Summary
+realist theories start with assumption (hobbesian) aggressive behaviour. Contested by lib (human nature can be perfected) If socially learned: proper edu, mechanisms could change trait. Immoral want outside of humans: we are the only ones who think about right and wrong before action. Animals engage in aggressive behaviour, but is it because they have no knowledge of why they are causing aggression: we don"t need to kill to eat. Idea of enemy is ingrained; even if not personal enemy. Intra species aggression: terminates when loser runs away. Humans: running away = cowardly, shameful even though it makes more sense to (biological) Is it rational to run away: war: social practice. To infringe on group territory, trespassing will result in combat until winner prevails and remains. Both animals and humans can get aggressive in crowding situations. Clearly we are supposed to be the most advanced, but most prone to kill our own kind.
