Prolongation of gestation, promote closure of the ductus: prostaglandin e1: induction of labour, causes. Valproate the ductus to remain open: thalidomide: phocomelia embryopathy. It"s being used now for immune disease, leprosy and some specific kinds of cancer: dosing adjustments during pregnancy, physiologic changes in pregnancy that can affect medication pharmacokinetics: Increased gfr: dilutional hypoalbuminemia, slowing of gastric and intestinal motility, changes in drug metabolizing enzymes, e. g. caffeine. Fetal hydantoin syndrome: craniofacial anomalies, fingernail hypoplasia, growth deficiency, developmental delay, cardiac defects, clefts. The rate is high, so if we got rid of them if would cost less. 1: abnormal development may be manifested as death, malformation, growth retardation and/or a functional deficit, manifestations of abnormal development (from no effect to lethal) increase as exposure increases. Case 1: i am 5 weeks pregnant with twins and already have nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (nvp).
