We discussed the changes to the status of catalonia, and the proces and the catalan political. Crisis in context, keep in mind the causes and the context. Support for independence before the 20th was more of less 14-15%, residual part only, then shot up in the years since the last regional elections in 2015 and jumps to 45% in favor. The support for remaining in spain was a little stronger since then in 2017-18, around 40 in favor and 54% against it, but they fluctuate. But why in the last four years has this become a large issue: mostly the new statute of 2006 and its controversy, because the territorial model of. Added onto this political crisis is the financial crisis of 2008, and the political decisions of spain along with austerity measures of the eu and fmi and european central bank and germany.
