Ritual of transforming that person"s idenity, to some extent, into another person. Versions of chrisianity that bapized adults, mainly, others bapized babies. Originally: most chrisians were converted, so adults were bapized. People postponing their bapism, especially if you strongly associated bapism with geing rid of your sins and change of idenity. In some socieies, adult bapism seems to make more sense (consent of person). Some will even re-bapized people who were bapized as babies.
