Performance measure for signalized intersections average control delay per vehicle. Signal delay = total delay experienced due to the control. Los analysis procedure: determine c, g & phasing, establish lane groups, calculate analysis flow rates (v) and adjusted saturation flow rates (s, calculate capacities, calculate delay, determine level of service (los, lane grouping. In general use the smallest number of lane groups that adequately describe the intersection: calculate analysis flow rates & adjusted saturation flow rates. Adjust hourly volumes for peak hour factor v = v/phf. Base saturation flow rate 1900 pc/h/ln. Then adjust for roadways and traffic related factors. In chapter 4 assume values for v and s given to be already adjusted: calculate lane group capacities. S adjusted saturation flow rate (veh/h)
